Simple Present vs. Present Progressive


1. Simple Present Tense

We use the Simple Present for things that are always true, habits, or routines.

Clue words: always, usually, often, sometimes, every day, every week.

Example 1: Suda goes to the market every morning.

A bustling market.

Example 2: It rains a lot during the rainy season.


2. Present Progressive (or Present Continuous)

We use the Present Progressive for actions happening right now or around the current time.

Clue words: now, right now, at the moment, look!, listen!.

Example 1: Look! The cats are playing in the garden.

Two cats playing in a garden.

Example 2: I can't talk, I am eating lunch right now.
