Present Simple vs. Present Continuous ---cloze-3 The Present Simple tense is used for *habits*, routines, and *facts* that are always true. For example, "I *drink* coffee every morning" (habit), or "The sun *rises* in the east" (fact). ---cloze-3 The Present Continuous tense is for actions happening *right now*, at this moment, or for *temporary* situations. For example, "I *am drinking* coffee now" (happening now), or "She *is living* in Paris for a few months" (temporary situation). ---cloze-4 Sarah *usually* drives to work, but today she *is taking* the bus. We *don't* often eat out, but tonight we *are celebrating* my birthday at a restaurant. He *reads* the newspaper every morning, but he *isn't reading* it right now.
