Cinderella
A retelling of the classic Cinderella tale for Thai students learning English.
Once upon a time, there was a kind girl named Cinderella. She lived with her wicked stepmother and two stepsisters who treated her very badly.
Cinderella had to do all the housework while her stepsisters relaxed and had fun. They made her sleep in the attic and wear old clothes.
One day, the prince announced a grand ball, and every girl in the kingdom was invited. Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters were excited and prepared beautiful dresses.
Cinderella wanted to go to the ball, but her stepmother forbade her. She was very sad and cried in the garden.
Suddenly, her fairy godmother appeared. With a wave of her wand, she turned a pumpkin into a golden carriage and mice into horses.
She also transformed Cinderella's rags into a beautiful gown and gave her glass slippers. Cinderella could now go to the ball.
The fairy godmother warned Cinderella to return home before midnight because the magic would end. Cinderella promised to obey.
At the ball, everyone was amazed by Cinderella's beauty. The prince danced with her all night and fell in love.
Cinderella lost track of time and hurriedly left the palace at midnight, leaving one glass slipper behind.
The prince searched the kingdom for the girl who fit the glass slipper. Finally, he found Cinderella, and they lived happily ever after.
