Davis: Hey, Stefan! How's work treating you?

Stefan: Not bad, Davis. It's pretty hectic and demanding, but it's also rewarding.

Davis: Yeah, I know what you mean. What do you do, exactly?

Stefan: I work in marketing. We're trying to launch a new product line, so there's a lot of pressure to get it right.

Davis: That sounds exciting! What kind of product are you launching?

Stefan: It's a line of vegan protein bars. We've been seeing a lot of demand for plant-based products, so we thought this would be a great addition to our brand.

Davis: Oh, cool! I'm actually trying to cut down on my meat consumption, so that sounds like something I'd be interested in trying.

Stefan: Yeah, a lot of people are going that route these days. It's great to see people being more conscious about what they put in their bodies and the impact it has on the environment.

Davis: Absolutely! Speaking of which, have you heard of the new carbon emissions regulations that just got passed?

Stefan: No, I haven't. What's that all about?

Davis: Basically, companies have to start reducing their carbon emissions by a certain percent each year. It's a step towards fighting climate change.

Stefan: Wow, that's a big deal. I'm glad to see that companies are being held accountable for their impact on the environment.

Davis: Yeah, it's definitely a step in the right direction. Have you been doing anything personally to reduce your carbon footprint?

Stefan: Actually, yeah. I've been trying to take public transportation more often and eating more plant-based meals. Little things like that can make a big difference.

Davis: That's awesome! I've been trying to do the same. It's great to see people taking action.

Stefan: Absolutely. We all have a responsibility to take care of the planet we live on. It's the only one we've got!

Davis: Well said, Stefan. It was great catching up with you. Let's grab lunch sometime.

Stefan: Sounds good, Davis. Take care!

Here are some tips for getting the most out of this site.

Beginners: My strategy is to first read the translation while listening to the audio. Then I listen to each sentence individually. After that, I practice saying the vocabulary words out loud. Finally, I listen to the whole text again without reading the translation. I don't try to remember or understand everything. I just let the language sink in as I gain more exposure. (Videos about Comprehensible Input)

Intermediate Learners: To gain some speaking practice, try opening the translation in your native language and then translate it back into the language you're learning. If you encounter any difficulties, you can refer to the transcripts.

Although you may use these lessons for short, intense study sessions, it's important for intermediate learners to engage in extensive listening and reading with simple books, TV shows, and podcasts as soon as possible.
