[Verse 1]
I thought English was only true in textbooks
Meant for someone else but not for me
English was out to get me
That's the way it seemed
Frustration haunted all of my dreams

[Chorus 1]
Then I joined this class, now I'm a learner
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a learner,
I couldn't leave it if I tried

[Verse 2]
I thought English was more or less a boring thing
Seems the more I learned the less I knew
What's the use in trying?
All you get is pain?
When I needed fun, I got rules

[Chorus 1]
Then I joined this class, now I'm a learner
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a learner,
I couldn't leave it if I tried

[Bridge]
Oh

Oh, English was out to get me
Now that's the way it seemed
Frustration haunted all of my dreams

[Chorus 1]
Then I joined this class, now
I'm a learner
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a learner, ...[repeat]

Here are some tips for getting the most out of this site.

Beginners: My strategy is to first read the translation while listening to the audio. Then I listen to each sentence individually. After that, I practice saying the vocabulary words out loud. Finally, I listen to the whole text again without reading the translation. I don't try to remember or understand everything. I just let the language sink in as I gain more exposure. Intermediate Learners: To gain some speaking practice, try opening the translation in your native language and then translate it back into the language you're learning. If you encounter any difficulties, you can refer to the transcripts.

Although you may use these lessons for short, intense study sessions, it's important for intermediate learners to engage in extensive listening and reading with simple books, TV shows, and podcasts as soon as possible.
